The Bukit Timah Monkey Man is a hominid said to live in the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, a patch of primary rainforest in the middle of Singapore. It is described as grey, about 5 ft 9 in tall, with a monkey's face and a man's upright walk.
Folklore traces the first report to around 1805. Japanese soldiers are said to have reported it during World War II, and The New Paper ran a series of sightings in 2007. A night hiker's report in late 2020 sent the story around local media again.
Reserve staff have pointed to long-tailed macaques, which are common on the hill, though they are far smaller than the creature people describe.
