Italy: official UFO files

After a wave of sightings in 1978, Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti made the Air Force Italy's official collector of UFO reports. Citizens file a form at their local Carabinieri station, the Air Force checks for aircraft and natural causes, and anything left unexplained goes on a yearly public list.

   Since the 1978 wave, the Italian Air Force has been the official collector of UFO reports. It publishes yearly PDF lists of sightings it could not explain, with place, date, time, shape, colour and duration, plus archives covering 1972 to 2000.
