Canada's Department of Transport ran Project Magnet in the early 1950s, a study of whether UFOs used geomagnetic propulsion. The National Research Council collected "non-meteoric" sighting reports until 1995, and the RCMP and Department of National Defence investigated cases like Falcon Lake (1967) and Shag Harbour (1967).
Library and Archives Canada has digitised about 9,500 of these documents. In 2025 the Chief Science Advisor's Sky Canada Project recommended that Ottawa name a lead agency and start publishing UAP data again.

Sky Canada Project report
Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada
A review of how Canada handles UAP reports. It estimates 600 to 1,000 sightings a year with no single body collecting them, and recommends a federal lead, a public reporting service, open data and links with AARO, NASA, GEIPAN and Chile's SEFAA.

Canada's UFOs: The Search for the Unknown
Library and Archives Canada
Library and Archives Canada digitised the UFO records of the Department of National Defence, Transport Canada, the National Research Council and the RCMP and made them searchable by place and date. They include the 1967 Falcon Lake and Shag Harbour files.
The US Air Force also logged 128 Blue Book case folders from Canada.
