An alligator-headed serpent off Point Judith
Narragansett, Rhode Island
Two experienced sailors on a sloop said a head like an alligator's, with five-foot jaws, long teeth and eyes as big as a hat crown, passed within ten feet of them, with a stiff fin down its back and a body at least 70 feet long. It followed reports of a serpent off Watch Hill.
