Vanceburg, Kentucky
A Vanceburg doctor said people in Lewis County were excited over a wild man of gigantic size, covered in thick hair, haunting the hills. A man who tried to talk to it was answered with a shower of rocks, and the doctor said he had seen it himself.

The Alkali Lake monster of Hay Springs
Hay Springs, Nebraska
People near Hay Springs said a creature about 20 feet long and as thick as a man lived in the alkali lake southeast of town, spouting water 20 feet high with a hiss like a locomotive. Bathers stopped going in and locals planned to catch it.
