Old Yellow Top is the nickname for a sasquatch-like creature reported around Cobalt, a silver-mining town in northern Ontario. What set it apart was a light-coloured, shaggy mane over a dark body, which gave the creature its name.
The first reports date to 1906, during Cobalt's silver rush, and local accounts tell of prospectors in the 1920s who saw a hairy creature feeding in a blueberry patch before it ran off. Sightings were claimed on and off for more than sixty years, making it one of Canada's longest-running regional Bigfoot stories.
