The Beast of Bray Road is a wolf-like creature reported along a quiet farm road outside Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Witnesses describe something 6 to 7 feet tall, covered in fur, with a wolf's head, pointed ears and glowing eyes, seen both on all fours and standing upright.
In late 1989 Lori Endrizzi said she saw it crouched by the roadside holding roadkill like a person would. On Halloween night 1991, teenager Doristine Gipson said she hit something on Bray Road and was chased back to her car. Reporter Linda Godfrey began covering the reports for the Walworth County Week that December, and her later books helped spark the wider Dogman craze.
Skeptics suggest wolves, large dogs or a bear with mange. Reports of an upright hairy creature in Walworth County still turn up now and then.
