Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects (the Condon Report)
An Air Force-funded study led by physicist Edward Condon concluded that further UFO research was unlikely to advance science. The National Academy of Sciences endorsed it, and the Air Force used it to justify shutting Blue Book.
