A Navy lieutenant sees a serpent off 27th Street
New York, New York
Lieutenant G. A. Foster of the training ship Minnesota said he watched a dull grey, eel-like animal at least 60 feet long swim slowly up the Hudson from the 27th Street pier. His quartermaster followed it through a marine glass and backed up every detail.
