Setauket, New York
After a farmer's prize sheep and a neighbour's hens were found torn apart, a Setauket farmer said his horses shied at a big ape about five feet tall standing upright at the edge of a swamp, holding a sapling. Farmers took guns to the fields and children were walked to school.
