New Brunswick, New Jersey
Farmers around the Great Bear Swamp lost sheep and hogs two winters running, finding only oddly shaped tracks. The one witness, a hired man the paper called of doubtful veracity, said it was a big black monster with horns, twice the size of a sheep.

Nevada men say they saw it weeks earlier
Silver City, Nevada
After reading the California stories, two Silver City men said they had seen the same airship about six weeks before, though at the time they took it for a meteor or a comet.
