Cloverdale, California
Young men on the iron bridge heard a strange noise and saw something churn down the dark Russian River toward them. It let out a scream unlike anything they knew, reared about ten feet out of the water with a bellow, and passed under the bridge, leaving an odd smell.

Olathe, Kansas
People along Cedar Creek described a naked creature about seven feet tall covered in brown hair, standing stooped with its long arms crossed and moving fast with a swinging gait.

A golden eagle attacks a woman in her garden
Honey Creek, Iowa
A widely reprinted item said a great golden eagle swooped on Mrs. Jane Mortenson as she bent over in her garden near Honey Creek, sank its talons into her back and tried to lift her, and that she died of the shock the next day.
