Rockport, Massachusetts
A Gloucester lawyer, a police-court clerk, a bank teller and a friend camping at Gally Point said a serpent over 100 feet long and as thick as a barrel swam within 200 yards of them one Saturday evening. All four had been unbelievers.

A 40-foot snake throws a farmer twenty feet
Valley, Nebraska
Two farmers walking through tall grass to bathe in a lake said a snake 40 feet long and a foot thick rose under one of them, threw him twenty feet and broke two ribs, then charged off to the lake bellowing like a bull. Locals had told of a big snake there for twenty years.
