Fulton, Missouri
David Newsom wrote to the Fulton Gazette that his son Robert, riding alone one clear night near the Middle Auxvasse Creek, saw the countryside grow brighter until his mule stopped, part of a run of mysterious lights reported in the area.

Rock apes of Vietnam
Central Highlands and DMZ, Vietnam
American soldiers and Marines told stories of "rock apes": large, reddish, upright primates seen in the mountains, sometimes throwing rocks at patrols. One story has a Marine unit on Hill 868 fighting off a troop of them. Primatologists suspect orangutan-sized macaques or bears.
