Long Beach, California
Guy Griffith, James Harvey and three other fishermen in the launch Reta said that some miles off the coast they saw a sea serpent 40 feet long, with a brown head as big as a small barrel, eyes like a man's fist and a large dorsal fin, swinging its head like a snake.
