Havana, Illinois
Young people boating on Thompson's Lake fired a revolver at what they took for a log, and it turned into an immense snake that churned the water to foam. Locals guessed it had escaped from a menagerie two years before.

Tombstone, Arizona
At about 9:30 one night, people in Tombstone noticed a mysterious light in the sky. The Prospector said it did not want to start another flying-machine theory, but recorded the mystery anyway.
