Merkel, Texas
People coming home from church in Merkel said a heavy object on a rope was dragging along the ground until it caught on the railroad. Looking up, they saw the airship with lights shining from several windows. The anchor was said to be on display in town.

Wheeling, West Virginia
George A. Williams, a travelling salesman for a large cloak firm, told Wheeling reporters he had seen the airship four times on his travels and had no doubt about it.
