Mokele-mbembe

Also called One who stops the flow of rivers

A sauropod-like river creature said to live in the Congo Basin.

Mokele-mbembe is described by people of the Likouala region as a large, long-necked animal that lives in rivers and kills hippos but eats plants. Since the 1980s many expeditions have searched Lake Tele for it.

It is the most famous "living dinosaur" claim, though no expedition has returned with clear evidence.
